UNP leadership council member MP Mangala Samaraweera, who was overseas for nearly a week for medical treatment, is to return to the island this morning (Nov. 12).
He is to attend the UNP Parliamentary Group meeting which will take place this noon.
Meeting former Army commander Sarath Fonseka in Singapore yesterday, Samaraweera has invited him to return to Sri Lanka before this Friday to sign the common agenda with regard to fielding a common candidate.
Accordingly, Fonseka who is in Singapore to seek medical treatment has decided to return to the island on Thursday, Dr. Senaka de Silva, who is travelling with him has told 'Sri Lanka Mirror'.
Recent media reports cited that MP Samaraweera was to crossover to the government.
