Convener of National Movement for Just Society Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero has been hospitalized this morning (Nov 14) due to a sudden ailment.
He is currently receiving treatment at a private medical facility in Malabe owned by Dr. Nevil Fernando.
It was reported that Ven. Sobhitha Thera met with President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the residence of Democratic National Alliance MP and businessman Tiran Alles and accordingly Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were to meet the Thero yesterday (Nov 13) at the Kotte Naga Viharaya, where the Thero resides.
Upon learning of this, a large crowd had gathered at the Naga Viharaya yesterday, remaining until this morning.
However, the opposition coalition's agreement on common agenda is to be signed next Monday.
The event will be attended by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Chief Justice 43 - Shirani Bandaranayake, former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva and MPs of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) as well as heads of several civil organizations.
