Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) carries out a contract from the government says a member of the BBS and former Chairman of Ja-ela Urban Council Anju Perera.
Speaking at a media conference held in Colombo yesterday (16th) Mr. Anju Perera said, “I was attached to BBS for more than 1 ½ years. I joined because I thought there were several issues Buddhists should get solutions for.
However, when I was with the BBS I knew they were fulfilling a contract from the government. BBS functioned to change any opposition views against the government. They acted when public view was going against the government. BBS is an arm of the government. The Sinhalese Buddhists are not with them today. Others talk about BBS with facts they have found out. But I speak with what I have experienced.”
During the past ‘Lankatruth’ revealed that BBS is manipulated with the direct participation of the Defense Secretary to fulfil interests of Rajapaksa family. This view has been confirmed now by a person who has been active in the organization.
