Indian Bollywood actor Salman Khan who was brought down to boost the Presidential election campaign of Mahinda Rajapaksa had made a sudden exit last night.
He is reported to have left following severe protests and opposition in India over his decision to support the election campaign of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
On the same day that he aborted his stay in the island, a vehicle parade transporting him is said to have met with an accident at the mango tree junction at Welikada in Rajagiriya.
Two children are said to have been injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment in hospital.
An officer at the Welikada police station confirmed there was an accident that took place at the mango tree junction but declined to answer further questions from srilankamirror.
He said that more information could be obtained from the Police media spokesman.
But while the whole country was made to believe that Salman Khan arrived in Sri Lanka to boost President Mahinda Rajapaksa's flagging election campaign, Minister Dalllas Allahapperuma claimed the Indian movie star was on a visit to look into the welfare of flood victims.
