Presidential Election 2015: Postal voting initiate

Throwing of postal votes in favor of the 2015 presidential race will initiate today, Tuesday, December 23, and will proceed with tomorrow also. 541,831 persons are qualified to cast their postal votes.

A lion's share of postal voters are accounted for from the Kurunegala area with the quantity of voters remaining at 66,934.

Then, Additional Elections Commissioner U. Amaradasa said that an exceptional day has been set side for cops and authorities appended to the Elections Department, to cast their postal votes.


Then, People's Action for Free and Fair Elections or PAFFREL, which is a race observing body says that 1000 authorities have been sent for perception of postal voting.

Official Director of PAFFREL, Rohana Hettiarachchi said that exceptional consideration will be controlled to police headquarters, instruction officers, armed force camps and SLTB business locales.

In the mean time, Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana says that an extraordinary security arrangement is in progress for the security of areas where postal voting is to occur.
