US set to present an alternate Geneva accommodation on Sri Lanka

The United States of America is prepared to submit an alternate proposal to the United Nations Human Rights Council refering to Sri Lanka as the respondent.

It is situated to be exhibited at the Council's session in Geneva in March.

The proposal is said to be an augmentation of what was submitted in 2012 and 2013.


The US State Department has said that it needs to make sure that a common clash won't emerge by and by and subsequently the purpose behind pressing ahead with the new proposal.

Then the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Nisha Bishwal is normal in Sri Lanka today (January 31) to conclude more subtle elements of the proposal.

Bishwal is booked to meet high positioning government authorities in Colombo and afterward continue to Jaffna for further examinations

She will then continue to Britain on February 3.
