In an intial explanation to the CID, previous Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa said it was he who had affirmed the issuance of programmed weapons to Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited and to the Avant Garde gliding ordnance in the Galle Port, Police said today.
His announcement was recorded by the CID a week ago regarding the exercises of the two ordnances which were as of late checked by the police.
A three-part CID group which went by Mr. Rajapaksa's habitation to record his announcement was informed that he neede abundant time to study the pertinent records preceding putting forth a legitimate expression.
He was accounted for to have told the analysts that he would give an announcement one week from now at once he discovered helpful to do as such.
At the point when asked whether the analysts had agreed any extraordinary benefit to Mr. Rajapaksa going to his habitation as opposed to summoning him to the CID office to record the announcement, Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana said there was nothing incorrectly in the CID going by someone to record an announcement.
He said the CID needed to find out about an endorsement given by the previous Defense Secretary and in that capacity there was no need to summon him to the CID office.
SSP Rohana said the analysts would next acquire data on the weapons obtainment methodology embraced by these ordnances.
