Ten billion rupees lost. Inland revenue refuses to provide information to the Auditor General

The Inland Revenue Department has refused to provide information to the Auditor General about a revenue administration management information system that cost one thousand crore rupees, or more than ten billion rupees.
The Auditor General stated in yesterday’s (28th) meeting of the Committee on Government Accounts that the relevant system is not functioning properly despite spending so much money to establish it.
According to the Auditor General, the refusal of the Inland Revenue Department to provide him with information about the agreement and payments related to the establishment of that system violates the Constitution.
