5000 Monks and 1000 Bhikkhunis converge to venerate the Mihintala relics

More than 5000 monks from all over the island had gathered today to worship the relics discovered in the excavations of the historical Anula Chaitya.

Approximately 1000 monks and 5000 bhikkunis arrived. Dr. Valahangunavewe Dhammarathana Thero of Mihintale and Bodagama Chandima Thero made dry ration bag and a cash donation to all the monks.
 Mihintale Chief Thero stated that after displaying the relic, the plan is to display it in almost every district the following year.
