Committee to probe whether telecom towers are harming Sri Maha Bodhiya

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a special committee to investigate reports claiming that telecommunication towers are harming the Sri Maha Bodhiya, the President’s Media Division states.

The committee will comprise TRC Chairman Prof. Niranjan Gunawardana, Director General of the Department of National Botanic Gardens Dr. S. A. Krishnaraja, Additional Director General TRC – Mr. H. Ranatunga & Anuradhapura GA – Mr. Janaka Jayasundara.

  The committee to investigate the matter had been appointed following a special request made by the Atamasthanadhipathi – Most. Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thero.
