New UNP constitution to be unveiled at October 21 Convention

The United National Party (UNP) Convention will be held on October 21 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

The Convention will be held under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The new Constitution of the United National Party will be unveiled at the event, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said.
   The party General Secretary further said that the UNP will move forward with a new face after this party convention by implementing the system change expected by the public during the struggle.

“The Aragalaya (struggle) showcased the country’s political parties that the existing system needs to be changed. The political parties in power in the country should prepare the basic foundation for changing the system. The United National Party is preparing to change that system. As the United National Party takes the country forward for 2048 fulfilling the needs of the country, it is preparing to introduce a new constitution to the party to suit today’s requirements,” he said.
