Minister urges to expedite probes against corrupt Paddy Board officers

Agriculture Minister – Mahinda Amaraweera has urged officials to immediately expedite investigations against corrupt and fraudulent officials at the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB).

He had stated that the even Pythagoras would be clueless on the mathematical formulas used by these officials with regard to paddy stocks.

The minister has pointed out that relevant investigations are being conducted at a snail’s pace.

     

Also, it is reported that the minister had directed officials to release all paddy stocks at the PMB before next month, pointing out that some are tempted to steal when stocks are piled at the PMB warehouses.

It is reported that there are 05 million kilogrammes of paddy currently stocked at the PMB.
